Superintendents: Don’t Miss this Professional Learning Opportunity!
The Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA) is excited to host the 2023 OALSS Conference. This two-day conference is designed to bring superintendents together to learn about current topics impacting our schools and the education landscape, as well as resources to support you and your teams. In addition to keynote and breakout sessions, there will also be time for attendees to connect and network with others.
Keynote: Tom Murray, Director of Innovation, Future Ready Schools
Staying Personal & Authentic in the Midst of Adversity
The pandemic has brought uncertainty at every turn. The past few school years have created significant anxiety and a loss of sleep for all educators, regardless of position. As we lead through uncertainty, how can we create a culture where students and staff can thrive? How can we work to overcome fear and fail forward when things don’t go as planned? It is important to create cultures that are grounded in personal and authentic relationships and inspire innovation, which starts by being learner centered and respecting the hidden stories of each individual. Regardless of what happens outside our school walls, together we can work to create meaningful opportunities when we hyper-focus on the things that matter most. The work is hard, but our kids are worth it!
Tom serves as the Director of Innovation for Future Ready Schools®, a project of the All4Ed, located in Washington, D.C. He has testified before the United States Congress and has previously worked alongside that body and the U.S. Senate, the White House, the U.S. Department of Education and state departments of education, and school districts throughout the country to implement student-centered learning.
