Essential Functions
Stay up to date on latest research and evidenced-based programs/practices in educational leadership and school administration.
Displaying a collaborative spirit and a desire to work with fellow faculty members, other academic programs, local community agencies, and local, state, and national educational and professional organizations and associations.
Demonstrating a commitment to educational equity and a desire to support the mission of a large, urban, research-intensive institution.
Teaching online and face-to-face master’s and doctoral level courses in the Educational Leadership program within the candidate’s area(s) of expertise.
Preparing educational leaders to transform various school, institutional, and education-oriented organizational settings.
Advising master’s and doctoral students across programs and concentrations.
Provide program support for the principal licensure program, including duties such as overseeing internship, managing CAEP accreditation, and supporting course development.
Supporting the Educational Leadership program through service to the department (e.g., attending departmental meetings and taking leadership opportunities to develop and grow K-12 and higher education areas, etc.), and working with colleagues on program, school, and college service activities.


Experience Required
Minimum Requirements
Prior to effective date of appointment (except as noted):

An earned doctoral degree in educational leadership, administration, or a closely related field by August 1, 2024.
At least one academic year of university level teaching experience in Educational Leadership or Education courses in general (as instructor of record or teaching assistant).

Additional Qualifications Considered
Professional experience in K-12 school, college/university, or education agency. Professional experience can also extend to foundation or governmental work related to education.
Candidates with principal, school administrator, or district leadership experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Research-oriented or evidence-based professional presentations in academic or practitioner-based settings, related to K-12 educational leadership, policy, equity, or a related field.


Wage or Salary
Competitive salary range dependent on the candidate’s experience.
