Associate Principal – Perry High School Number of Openings: 2 Position Type: Administrative Start Date: 8-1-2022

 

Duties:

Essential Functions:

 Hold/maintains or in process of acquiring required ODE credentials.

 Reports directly to high school principal and liaison to Curriculum Department.

 Skilled in curriculum issues / demonstrates knowledge of exemplary instruction and best practices.

 Successful teaching experience.

 Successful administrative experience in the areas of instruction, student assessment, staff relations, collaboration, professional development, leadership roles and public relations preferred.

 Knowledge of state, national, local policies, guidelines and procedures.

 Involved in staff development and continuous improvement planning initiatives.

 Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, counselors, other staff, and administrators.

 Genuine regard for students, staff and community.

 Knowledge of how to integrate technology into the curriculum.

 Willingness to meet the needs of all students (e.g. at-risk, high achieving, special education).

 Demonstrates a knowledge of academic content standards, assessment and testing issues associated with the state tests.

 Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 Promotes collaboration when working with others, advocates BLT/TBT concept.

 Ensures a healthy, safe, and orderly environment while maintaining high standards for student behavior, effective student discipline techniques.

 Embraces and uses technology in one’s role as an administrator and an instructional leader.

 Models, trust, integrity, honesty, strong character, fairness, and a strong work ethic and works to develop these with the students and staff.

 Good organizational skills, sense of humor, good listener, handles multi-tasks, problem solver, creative and is a life-long learner.

 Demonstrates loyalty to the organization and handles responsibilities with professionalism and observes confidentiality when dealing with all school related matters.

 Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or similar training may be required for some assignments.

 

Experience Required:

Minimum Qualifications:

 Holds/maintains required Ohio Department of Education credentials. Educational administration, curriculum and instructional skills verified by training and/or work experience.

 Experience in high school classroom preferred.

 Experience as instructional leader, either as principal or through other initiatives (DLT, BLT, etc.) preferred.

 Hold a current 7-12 license or able to obtain one.

 Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) credentialed evaluator status is required.

 Ability to analyze and present complex information in easy-to-understand formats.

 Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.

 Effective supervisory, communication, problem-solving and time management skills.

 Embodies high ethical standards/integrity. Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.

 Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

 Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or similar training may be required for some assignments.
