The CTE (Career Technical Education) Coordinator brings career training to the forefront of the FusionEd network. She/he effectively utilizes their prior education, training and growth mindset to enhance and promote sustainable CTE programing and support each campus’ goal of achieving their career strength metric.
Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Assist the network in achieving their career and technical education goals.
-Work directly with the Superintendent to create and monitor sustainable CTE programs at the network level and the building level.
-Instruct CTE or CBI classes at individual schools as needed and certification dictates.
-Work with staff to optimize implementation of CTE launches and ongoing initiatives including but not limited to: CTSOs, work-based learning experiences, and advisory council management.
-Assist in development and implementation of CTE-related curriculum including CBI, cluster/pathway, and professional skills curriculum and instruction
-Develop effective relationships with business and industry partners local to each school or regionally, including obtaining commitments for advisory council work, job shadowing experiences, on campus tours, and internships
-Assist in the creation of systems for tracking critical CTE metrics associated with each launch and/or initiative
-Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders
-Maintain effective communication on an ongoing basis with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders
-Prepare or administer career-related tests as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned
-Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred -Satisfactory completion of federal and state required criminal history check -Proficiency in computer applications, including Google suite, e-mail, and internet applications preferred
Qualification Preferences include:
-CTE teaching and/or program experience
-Demonstrable, successful experience managing or leading a component of a CTE program or a program in whole -Demonstrable, successful experience writing and obtaining grant funding -Product management experience and/or credential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
-Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters -Utilizes effective time management and exhibits punctuality on the job daily Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas relevant to career education -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Exhibits a passion for teaching and working with youth and young adults -Ability to work in a diverse educational community setting -Strong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student data to make sound educational decisions -Exhibit flexibility regarding decision-making, daily challenges, and job duties -Pursues ongoing personal and professional growth -Ability to effectively and efficiently lead meetings -Ability to manage multiple tasks and move each to completion on time -Ability to troubleshoot and overcome obstacles -Interest in and willingness to align lessons to career program /CTE standards -Interest in and willingness to develop program and product management skills and abilities -Basic data collection and analysis
-Interaction with students, staff, and parents/guardians -Managing data and staff -Interaction with business/non-profit leaders and HR representatives -Interaction with college faculty and administrators -Interaction with direct manager and management team members -Attendance at weekly, monthly and bimonthly meetings in person or remotely as directed -Interaction with faculty colleagues at other school locations through on- and off-site workgroups, training, and other professional development and through web conference.
-Ability to travel as needed
-Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds -Standing for extended periods of time, sitting occasionally -Ability to move around the building -Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer and other technology related components
