Duties:
-Is directly responsible for district administration in the absence of the Superintendent.
-Assist the Superintendent and other administrators and staff with the linking of the strategic plan priorities with the instructional, staff development, and financial goals and operation -Monitor the development of PreK-12 graded courses of study, adoption of instructional resources and material, and the selection of instructional supplies and equipment -Oversee the development, management, and evaluation of instruction in the District -Work with other administrators and staff on issues related to student behavior/discipline and all applicable Board Policies -Annual revision of Board Policies and administrative guidelines -Oversee the development, annual goals and evaluations for principals and district administration team -Monitors and supports evaluating the effectiveness of personnel and directing support systems to ensure high levels of performance for all district employees -Directs the district professional development program and ensure its interrelationship with student achievement -Assist the Superintendent in making contractual decisions related to the assignment, transfer, and reappointment of principals and other appropriate staff members -Coordinate with other district departments for major initiatives of district support organizations (UAEF, PTOs, Stand, parent groups) -Assumes the essential duties and responsibilities in the Superintendent’s absence -Assist in scheduling and staffing, supervise the development of budgets, secure funding for individual projects, and monitor reports of educational subprograms -Coordinate ongoing review of all Board Policies for applicability and effectiveness -Develop and maintain professional and personal skills and knowledge necessary to provide the leadership expected in the Deputy Superintendency -Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations and conferences through membership, attendance, and/or presentation -Establish networks with similar school systems and attend educational conferences -Serve as a role model for students -Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner -Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
Experience Required:
-Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, Doctorate in Education, preferred.
-Successful experience in teaching and administration -Appropriate state of Ohio certification/license -Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
