Posting: Elementary/Intermediate School Assistant Principal, Grades K – 6, for the 2022 – 2023 school year.
Description: The Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) desires to employ a person licensed in the state of Ohio to serve as an elementary/intermediate school assistant principal at Madison-Plains Elementary/Intermediate School. Located in Madison County, Ohio, the Madison-Plains Local School District is located approximately 40 miles southwest of Columbus, a short drive off Interstate 71.
Reports To: Elementary/Intermediate Principal
Minimum Qualifications:
- Appropriate licensure/certification in elementary/intermediate school administration (principal, grades K-6) in the state of Ohio.
- Current documentation of clear criminal history via FBI/BCI background check

- Demonstrated ability to provide a safe, orderly environment that supports learning
- Demonstrated ability to build positive, appropriate, and professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and community stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex work environment efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrated ability in instructional leadership
- Demonstrated ability to use data to make decisions
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional learning community
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using formative assessments
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with differentiated instruction
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in assessing students through writing and authentic assessments
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using a “backwards” learning design process to design instruction
- Demonstrated knowledge of the importance of making all content relevant for today’s 21st century learners
- Demonstrated ability to promote rigor and support students in attaining standards
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage students
Terms of Employment: Terms of employment shall be in accordance with the policies of the Madison-Plains Local School District (MPLSD) Board of Education and Ohio Revised Code, as applicable. The successful candidate will be offered a multi-year contract with salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and education.
