Executive Director of Teaching & Learning –



General Administrative Tasks

  1. Attends Board meetings upon request and prepares such reports for the Board as the CAO requests.
  2. Assists the CAO, in cooperation with other executive level administrators, in coordinating the district’s educational programs effectively.
  3. Assists in the preparation and administration of the instructional annual budget.
  4. Assists in development of instructional goals.
  5. Formulates proposals for revision and development of Board policies related to curriculum and instruction.
  6. Performs all other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as assigned by the CAO.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

Staff Development

  1. Provides leadership in the overall design of a progressive educational program. Researches and disseminates pertinent information.
  2. Assists in determination of specific educational programs and makes appropriate recommendations to the CAO.
  3. Assumes a leadership role in curriculum and instruction planning, implementation of state standards and development of Graded Courses of Study.
  4. Administers the textbook selection and adoption program in cooperation with curriculum committees.
  5. Recommends the addition of new courses, grade placement of courses, credit allowance for courses, and graduation requirements.
  6. Assists the CAO in the coordination of staff development programs to ensure a comprehensive curriculum.
  7. Assists, upon request, high school, middle school and elementary administrators in matters pertaining to curriculum and instruction.
  8. Directs the establishment of and evaluation of professional development experiences for administrators, certificated staff and non-certificated personnel.
  9. Assists in the professional development of the entry year mentor program.


  1. Manages standing and ad hoc study committees upon request of the CAO.
  2. Manages the areas of curriculum and instruction.
  3. Provides leadership for the assessment of current instructional practices and curriculum and makes recommendations for improvement in educational programs.
  4. Reviews, approves and monitors all program-related research activities conducted in Dublin Schools by university and other educational agency personnel.
  5. Contributes to public information documents as requested by the CAO.
  6. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.


Experience Required:

  1. Master’s degree or higher.
  2. Eight years or more successful experience in education with at least five years administrative experience at the building level or higher preferred.
  3. Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication.
  4. Valid Ohio Certificate as an administrator.
  5. Administrative experience in the following areas is desirable.

Wage or Salary: 123,000-145,000

Approximate Work Hours or Days: 40
