Start Date



Knowledge of public school accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and monthly reconciliation.
Ability to cross train with other office staff, filling in as needed.
Knowledge of school laws and regulations.
Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
Strong customer service skills and positive attitude.
Ability to develop, revise, enforce and educate staff regarding policies and procedures.
Ability to multitask, work independently, and resolve issues in a professional manner.
Assist in receipting, recording and depositing of monies.
Process credit card payments and refunds.
Investigate and balance returned checks.
Maintain inventory listing of fixed assets in all buildings/departments and assist with physical inventory procedures.
Review and confirm correct account codes are utilized and provide recommendations and guidance to building secretaries and principals when needed.
Ability to review and analyze budgets and financial reports.
Process/create, compile and distribute purchase orders from requisitions that are entered at the building/department level.
Prepare check runs for vendor payments.
Maintain purchase order file, filing invoices and processing payments to vendors.
Maintain confidentiality.
Maintain old vendor listings and add new vendors when needed.
Maintain files, distribute mail, answering phones.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Treasurer/CFO.


Experience Required
High School Diploma required.
Associates degree or higher preferred.
Accounting or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience with Uniform School Accounting System (USAS) preferred.
Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team with a strong customer service focus.
Computer skills necessary to effectively manage and operate the financial accounting systems and applications, including Microsoft Office software and Google Suite.
Commitment to maintaining high standards and increasing accountability and efficiency at all levels.


Wage or Salary
Salary Range: $41,400 – $61,600


Approximate Work Hours or Days
Contract: 8 hours per day for 260 days which includes 13 paid holidays
Earned sick leave, vacation leave and personal leave.
