High School Turnaround Principal – Springfield City School District

Duties:

*Leads the District’s commitment to SEL

*Delegates roles and responsibilities to Assistant Principals, provides coaching, support and accountability.

*Communicates and interprets building policies, procedures and regulations.

*Creates and maintains the master schedule for the building *Leads Building Leadership Team meetings *Develops and evaluates the annual school plan, assuring its coordination with District goals *Conducts instructional supervision and evaluation including classroom and teaching observations for assigned areas *Oversees the progressive discipline process for staff and faculty as outlined by District Office *Manages the coordination and supervision of after school clubs and extracurricular activities *Oversees the student assignment, retention and promotion function(s) of the School

 

Experience Required:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:

*Master’s Degree or higher, with a major concentration in Educational Administration and Supervision from an accredited institution *Valid Principal licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education (9-12) *Minimum three years of proven success in increasing student achievement Proven success leading and turning around chronically low-achieving schools *Proven experience leading urban schools to accelerate student academic and learning performance *Proven experience in conducting rigorous evaluations of educator and school staff performance *Strong belief that all students can learn to high levels and thrive when given the chance *Success with professional development design and delivery to help teachers raise test scores using data *Proven ability to adapt to the complexities of the urban school environment *Proven ability to build capacity in others *Responsible for technology and addressing repairs/issues *Develops and supervises faculty and staff by setting goals, providing regular feedback, documenting performance and conducting annual appraisals *Partners with District Safety Committee/Security /Threat Task Force/Law Enforcement/ Ohio Department of Job and Family Services when/as needed *Works with faculty and students to reinforce a student discipline management system driven by the principles of PBIS

 

Wage or Salary: Starting salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, increases with education Approximate Work Hours or Days: 234 days per school year
