The Board is seeking applicants for the position of Superintendent. The Boards seeks an outstanding, experienced administrator who will continue the present established vision and mission of the district.



The East Knox District is made up of Knox, and parts of Licking and Coshocton Counties. Our district covers an area of 144 square miles and geographically serves the communities of Howard, Apple Valley, Bladensburg, and Millwood.


East Knox Junior/Senior High and Elementary buildings are located on the same campus on U.S. 36(Coshocton Road) in the town of Howard. Both are situated in beautiful rural settings which complement the learning environment. There are several colleges within commuting distance, and the area provides numerous cultural and recreational opportunities.

Qualifications and Successful Candidate Profile:

Creating a well-defined candidate profile is crucial as it serves as the foundation for Finding Leaders’ successful recruitment process, ensuring that the next financial leader aligns with the district’s specific needs and goals.



  • Proven visionary who is able to see strategic, innovative goals and how to achieve them
  • Proven instructional leader who has deep knowledge and understanding of curriculum, instruction, and how students learn
  • Administrative and teaching experience at building and/or central office levels
  • Focused on a culture of excellence
  • Able to collaborate with all constituents including civic, business, and community leaders
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills who can motivate and inspire
  • Working knowledge of fiscal responsibility



Finding Leaders offers comprehensive support in planning, recruiting, and transitioning leadership, assisting in the creation of a leadership transition plan, and guiding the board through candidate selection.



Tentative Timeline

  • Application Due Date: April 26, 2024
  • Finding Leaders Interviews: March 6, 2024
  • First Round Board Interviews: May 6 & 8, 2024
  • Second Round Interviews with stakeholders: May 20, 2024
  • Employment Begins: August 1, 2024 or earlier
