Job Opportunities > TCPL Faculty Position in Educational Leadership – Miami University
The successful candidate will be teaching graduate courses in educational leadership, primarily in the Education Doctorate program (EdD) and School Leaders Masters program, providing advising for students in the programs, supervising comprehensive exam and dissertation committees, and providing leadership for promotion of the EdD and School Leadership programs in the region and the recruitment of new cohorts to the program. The successful candidate will have a record of experience leading PK-12 schools in ways that challenges structural inequities in schooling, as well as the overall societal status quo. They will show evidence of new ways for engaging students and communities in deeper learning. They will share knowledge of the field of transformative school leadership as well as experience in the field leading curriculum work, serving on doctoral committees, engaging in service, and teaching online.
Minimum Qualifications: 1) An Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related content area from an accredited institution of higher education; 2) Significant experience as a school leader working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students, and community agencies or partners; 3) Evidence of commitment to high quality, innovative teaching; 4) Knowledge of initiatives in the areas of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and background in working with diverse student populations of students and families in PK-12 environments.
Desired Qualifications: Successful applicants will be those who bring educational-based experience in practice, research, or partnerships linking schools and communities in educational renewal projects. Experience in higher education program development is desired. Familiarity with PK-12 state licensure. Interest in and experience with developing effective on-line and hybrid teaching formats and/or programs. Experience working with students or colleagues to conduct research and address problems of practice. Knowledge and experience with qualitative and/or action research approaches to scholarship. Experience in upper-level educational leadership positions in PK-16 settings.
